Benefits of Hypnotherapy for Healing and Improving Quality of Life.

As a Heart Centered Hypnotherapist, I incorporate emotional release with each regression in the hypnotherapy session. If I were to ask what is the most challenging part of my sessions, most clients will say feeling and identifying their negative emotions is by far the most challenging and uncomfortable.

Joy and positivity are actually cultivated by feeling the negative emotions associated with challenging experiences we face. Our ability to process and liberate these emotions is what provides lasting joy. In my practice, I hold space for my clients and patients to feel and release anger, sadness, grief, anxiety, shame, loneliness and fear in order to feel better and transform their health and ultimately their life.

Healing through Acceptance and Emotional Release

The article The Psychological Health Benefits of Accepting Negative Emotions and Thoughts: Laboratory, Diary, and Longitudinal Evidence found that people who practiced habitual acceptance of negative emotions were able to greater psychological health. They were less likely to ruminate on negative thoughts, suppress mental experiences, and to experience prolonged negative emotions like guilt, anger, and shame.

Another study, which used injections of local anesthesia, triggered emotional releases in chronically ill patients. Researchers found that the emotional release allowed for integration of dissociated memories,  helping patients make new associations and improving physical symptoms. The great thing is that hypnotherapy follows a similar mechanism without the need of invasive injections.

Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy: An Integrative, Non-Invasive Approach

Using heart-centered hypnotherapy as a form of a mind body intervention allows for clients and patients to experience integration of dissociated memories while in a deeply relaxed state. Instead of using a pain inducing injection, hypnotherapists induce the relaxed state without analgesics, allowing the subconscious mind to fully process and release negative emotions which allows for radical acceptance of challenging experiences.

These studies when applied to mind body therapies, like heart-centered hypnotherapy, support shadow work  with negative experiences to improve one’s physical and psychological health.
